Stuck for something to do this evening? Pro-Jekt + Death Emitting Diode
The Trojan Rooms, Whitley Bay £3 This gig will also be followed by Boneyard Rock Night - playing Rock, Metal, Goth and Alternative. Pro-Jekt ( http://www.myspace.com/projektband) played up here earlier this year, supporting Apoptygma Berzerk. Since then, they've released hotly-anticipated 3rd album 'Reign of Scars' (produced by Ade Fenton) and had a slight personnel change. Musically - they should appeal to all kinds - they've fitted on bills comfortably alongside the likes of Deathstars and Mortiis. Death Emitting Diode ( http://www.myspace.com/deathemittingdiod..e) might live 30 odd miles away, but I'm still claiming them as 'local' (Hell - Newcastle is happy to claim Maximo Park as 'local' and they're from even further away) and they're among the best in local bands. Debut album 'Welcome to the Machine' should be released around the time of this date - containing many of their live favourites, which blend a range of influences from 80s synthpop to future-pop with a touch of cyber-metal. or, if you're in the Stockton area: Novus UK Persecution @ The Midian Dovecot Street, Stockton £3 entry before band
*N O V U S : U K* are an established *gothic/industrial/electro* act on the European scene, having performed live in the UK / The Netherlands / Germany (K17 Berlin) / Sweden / Finland / Lithuania / Latvia / Serbia / Czech Republic / Switzerland and Portugal. http://www.myspace.com/novusuk |

Blacklist - Free London Goth Night (Tomorrow) ( Flyer )Created by the same team that gave you Departure, Blacklist is another opportunity to enjoy the fabulous food and drink at the Elixir Bar in Camden to a soundtrack of alternative music. If you choose Blacklist as your meet up venue before moving onto Inferno at The Electric Ballroom, ask at the bar for a stamped flyer for discounted entry until 1:30am. Entry to Blacklist if free all night, leaving you with extra cash to spend at the reasonably priced bar, which hosts a happy hour on quality cocktails until 9pm too ;) The music policy is more diverse than Departure and leans slightly more in a guitar based direction, with the objective to give you ‘Dark Music from 1977 onwards’. Expect to hear stuff like indie, post-punk, goth and darkwave accompanied by visuals and videos. Featuring a different group of established DJs every month to keep the playlist varied and helping you get into the mood for the weekend. The London Gothic Meetup Group will be having a 'meetup' at this month's Blacklist. http://www.meetup.com/London-Gothic/calendar/11646526/This month's DJs will be Vicky Fenbane, Speakmarauder, Ali* and Robert Cowlin. |

whitby2009 Armed with my camera, a corset or two, made my way across the Yorkshire moors, to one of my favourite towns here in England for WGW. Arrived late Saturday which blew out all photography plans (thanks National Express trains for making me miss all my connections). A beautiful clear day, so joined up with DaveFish and Dot for engagement celebrations, then off to dinner with the rest of the gang, before I knew it I was being escorted home, after ending up on the Little A. (Thanks Mike) Sunday was truly awful weather. Tried to do a set in the old alleyway while waiting for Sherlocks to open, got a few shots but it was fooking freezing. Then Sherlocks opened up and with the permission of the owner and with Davefish fancy lens, was allowed to play for a bit in this stunning location. Wonderful to see everyone and hopefully Charles and I will be back for April. Huge thanks to all who put up with me and the Yorkshire winter weather. A couple of my favourites so far. I'm *not* gonna be clashing with Question Time* or other radio shows this week... so... (*at least not with Nick Griffin...) 8pm-10pm (GMT) www.reachonair.com Goth, Industrial, EBM and all that... No brand new stuff unless something is waiting on my doorstep when I get home - although I have picked up the [SITD] and Solitary Experiments albums, so may well play a couple of tracks from there As it's bonfire night and was Hallowe'en t'other day, maybe one or two topical numbers in the mix... There is plenty of proper Goth in there as well... |

Berith Appeal To the person that found BERITH,
I am appealing to you and want to let you know how much that little bear means to us.He has no monetary value but is priceless to us. It isn't just a teddy but a very important part of our little bizarre family composed by cats & teddy bears.
Berith is one of the few constant sources of confort and tenderness we have and, as a person who tends to be ill a lot & is cronically depressed , I personally am finding it really hard to cope without him, especially as I have had quite a difficult year so far. He goes everywhere with us, clubs, pubs, outings, holidays...
I just beg you to send him back. Contact or send him to the Whitby Gazette. We offer a wee £50 reward, and no questions asked, too. Please send him back home. We miss him terribly. Thanks!

I bit of a shout with some of the events we've got coming your way for the remainder of 2009... Firstly... This Friday 6th NovemberPro-Jekt + Death Emitting Diode Trojan Rooms, Whitley Bay This is followed by Boneyard Rock Night, with special guest DJ Jon Deamon (who provided the tunes at the Hallowe'en Bash in the Met at Whitby) Entry is the very reasonable £3 Doors at 8pm. ------ Saturday 7th November
It's the Charnel House post-hallowe'en-bonfire-y-Autumn-y party thing. What we have every year, the first Sat after Hallowe'en. Just a bit further away than normal this year, damn calendar. At Butlers, Nun Street in Newcastle (as usual) and it's DJs Ghost, Marie, Kev36663 and Vulnavia spinning you Goth, Post-Punk, New-Wave, Industrial, a touch electro and all that stuff... Prizes for best fancy dress - and there's a buffet an' all. Feed the Goths, let them know it's (nearly) Christmas time. Our parties are £5 - but - on the plus it's £2 a pint and other cheap alcohol... all for the win... --- Saturday 14th November Rhombus + Lesbian Bed Death + Legion Chillingham Arms, Newcastle £5 on the door. More bargain band prices... ---- Saturday 21st November Charnel House Again, back to the normal price of £3.50 Drinks still cheap and music still great though ---- Tuesday 1st December Cruxshadows + Ayria + All Living Fear Independent, Sunderland £12 advance... www.seetickets.com www.ticketweb.co.uk If you don't like booking fees then you can buy some at any of the above events... without booking fee... ---- Thursday 10th December Grendel + Uberbyte + System:FX Independent, Sunderland £12 advance... www.seetickets.com www.ticketweb.co.uk Again, we have some without booking fee if you buy at one of the above events... VERY IMPORTANT -- the Independent is double booked this night... this doesn't threaten the gig but it does mean we will be on a **reduced capacity** if everyone who bought a ticket for Combichrist, buys one for Grendel - it will sell out... I'll obviously communicate closer to the time if it looks like you'll be able to get some on the door, but do buy a ticket to avoid disappointment! --- Saturday 19th December Charnel House Christmas Party At Butlers, Newcastle... £5... cheap beer... lots of partying... etc. --- 2010 (and beyond) In 2010 CH will still be 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month in Butlers... we've already scribbled in the diary... as normal there won't be one the first Sat in January. There has been some chinwag about some gigs - one of which were hoping to announce with a couple of weeks.... |

Gothwatch UK
Were you at Whitby in October 2006? Did you have a close encounter with some military types? Are you the sort of Goth who loses things on beaches? Gothwatch UK needs your help... I noticed this story in the Whitby gazette where a camera was found on the beach which contained a memory card. The paper are hoping someone will claim the card and published this picture to help you: Do you know who these recruits are? I have my theories ;@) Current Mood: curious |
